Para adultos ofrecemos el programa RICA y para gente con discapacidad tenemos SPRED.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR

If you or your children are seeking preparation for the Sacraments such as Baptism, Reconciliation, First Communion, or Confirmation, we invite you to register for our Religious Education program at St. Pius V parish. For adults we offer the RCIA program and for people with disability we have SPRED.

To better serve you, registration for all programs will be done by appointment only at the parish office during the months of June and July, from Monday to Friday. Kermes y Rifa 2023: Guarden la fecha / Save the Date

La Kermes y Rifa de San Pío V, se llevarán a cabo el sábado 22 (11 am – 10 pm) y domingo 23 (10 am – 10 pm) de julio de 2023. Se necesitan voluntarios!

Los boletos para la rifa se pueden comprar por $5 cada uno en la oficina parroquial o de un miembro de la iglesia. Uno debe tener 18 años de edad o más para participar en la rifa. Los premios de la rifa para este año:

• Primer Premio: $7,500
• Segundo Premio: $5,000
• Tercer Premio: $3,000

La Kermes, the street festival of St. Pius V parish, will take place Saturday (11 am – 10 pm) and Sunday (10 am – 10 pm), July 22-23, 2023. Volunteers are needed!

Raffle tickets may be purchased for $5 each in the parish office or from a parishioner. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the raffle. This year’s prizes:

• First Prize: $7,500
• Second Prize: $5,000
• Third Prize: $3,000

SE NECESITAN OBREROS
Las Escrituras de hoy emplean metáforas mixtas -imágenes de ovejas y pastores, sacerdotes y pueblo, mieses y obreros- que se entremezclan para crear una red de significado en la que hemos basado nuestra comprensión de las vocaciones cristianas.

Sobre todo, estas imágenes nos ayudan a ver las vocaciones cristianas como una extensión y expresión del propio ministerio de Jesús en el mundo. Se prestan especialmente a una reflexión sobre la vocación al sacerdocio.

Las Escrituras de hoy nos ayudan a comprender el papel de los ordenados en la vida de la Iglesia. También nos animan a rezar para que aumente el número de candidatos a la ordenación sacerdotal, porque “la mies es abundante y los obreros son pocos” (Mateo 9:37).

LABORERS NEEDED
Today’s scriptures employ mixed metaphors—images of sheep and shepherds, priests and people, harvest and laborers—all of which intermingle to create a web of meaning on which we have based our understanding of Christian vocations.

Above all, these images help us see Christian vocations as an extension and expression of Jesus’ own ministry in the world. They lend themselves especially well to a reflection on the vocation to ordained priesthood.

The scriptures for today help us understand the role of the ordained in the life of the Church. They also encourage us to pray for an increase in the number of candidates for priestly ordination, for “the harvest is abundant but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37).
