Desmond and Mary Pat Curran, parents of our pastor, Fr. Brendan, hosted a benefit in support of the children and youth of Casa Juan Diego on Sunday, August 22 at Cork and Kerry in Chicago.

More than 80 guests - family, friends and supporters - gathered for drinks, food and presentations from Casa Juan Diego participants and staff. The annual event raises funds to support programming at the youth center, a ministry of St. Pius V Parish.

St. Pius V Parish is joining with six other parishes to pray for an end to violence in our neighborhoods and for the safety of our police. Masses and prayers will take place at sunrise on Saturday, August 21, between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. at seven beaches. A bus will leave from St. Pius at 6:00 a.m. for the 31st Street Beach. Bring a folding chair or blanket. If you go by car, parking is 50 cents for 2 hours.

Princess Closet launched a campaign to collect 1,000 prom and graduation dresses to donate to young women in the spring of 2011. 

Two bus-loads of St. Pius V community members joined tens of thousands of other supporters of immigration reform at a rally in Washington, D.C., on March 21.
